Maintenance
Overview
Review all Maintenance resources that have been created under Operations - Maintenance:
This shows the maintenance resources with the following information:
- Alerts: Alerts related to this Maintenance resource
- Name: The name of Maintenance resource, which equals to the System Inventory name
- Deployment ID: ID of the deployment created on Conductor. The deployment might fail to be created due to unhealthy WRCP or other reasons
- System Controller: System controller of a subcloud or its own name if this is a system controller
- Type: Distributed cloud type: System Controller or Subcloud
- System Mode: Simplex or duplex. Sometimes it’s empty due to unhealthy WRCP or other reasons
- Executions Status: The status of Maitenance operations
- Operations: The available maintenance operations for this resource
Search
Search box supports searching maintenance resources by Name.
Sort
Columns Name, Deployment ID, System Controller, Type and System Mode support Sorting for maintenance resources.
Operations
Manage Worker Nodes
This operation is applicable to duplex System Controller or duplex subclouds with valid Conductor deployments created.
To open Worker Nodes page, click on Manage Worker Nodes.
Worker Nodes page shows the worker nodes with the following information:
- Name: The name of worker node
- Administrative: Administrative state of WRCP host: locked or unlocked
- Operational: Operational state of WRCP host: enabled or disabled
- Availability: Availability state of WRCP host: available or other states
- BMC Address: The address of BMC server
- BMC Username: The secret containing the username of BMC server
- BMC Password: The secret containing the password of BMC server
Search
Search box supports searching worker nodes by Name.
Sort
Columns Name, Administrative, Operational, Availability, BMC Address, BMC Username and BMC Password support Sorting for worker nodes.
Add Worker Node
To add a worker node, click on Add Worker Node.
- Worker Node Name: The name of the worker node.
- BMC Address: The BMC address. Required when add or delete a worker node.
- Secret Name of Worker’s BMC Username: The name of the secret that contains the BMC username. Required when add or delete a worker node.
- Secret Name of Worker’s BMC Password: The name of the secret that contains the BMC password. Required when add or delete a worker node.
- Worker Deployment Config (YAML format): Input the worker deployment config for WRCP to add node. Must be valid yaml.
Delete Worker Node
To delete a worker node, click on the button Delete.
Note: Deleting an unhealthy worker node might fail and then need manual intervention.
- BMC Address: The BMC address. Required when add or delete a worker node.
- Secret Name of Worker’s BMC Username: The name of the secret that contains the BMC username. Required when add or delete a worker node.
- Secret Name of Worker’s BMC Password: The name of the secret that contains the BMC password. Required when add or delete a worker node.
Restore Subcloud
This operation is applicable to simplex subclouds only.
Before executing Restore Subcloud, make sure the following conditions are met:
- System Controller must be in a healthy state.
- The subcloud to be restored must be visible from System Controller.
- A deployment of System Controller where the subcloud to be restored is installed must be available in Conductor.
- A backup file compatible with the current subcloud release version must already exist in System Controller.
- If ‘System Mode’ is empty for a simplex subcloud, go to ‘System Inventory’ page to update the system inventory by adding ‘system-mode: simplex’.
To restore a simplex subcloud, click on Restore Subcloud:
- Replacement Management Mac Address (Optional): The management mac address of the new server. Required when restoring subcloud on a new server.
- BMC Address (Optional): The address of BMC server. Required when restoring subcloud on a new server.
- Secret Name of Subcloud Server’s BMC Username (Optional): The name of the secret that contains the username of BMC server. Required when restoring subcloud on a new server.
- Secret Name of Subcloud Server’s BMC Password (Optional): The name of the secret that contains the password of BMC server. Required when restoring subcloud on a new server.
Settings
Refresh time interval
- The time interval in which the widget’s data will be refreshed, in seconds. Default: 10 seconds.List of fields to show in the table
- List of columns to be shown in list of Maintenance table. By default all columns are visible.
